Caring for the Weak
In caring for an elderly person day after day I had to forgive a lot of people I thought should have been there! It is easy to become bitter and angry at what you feel is unjust burdens that some who should be there could help you with and probably they even could do a much better job. But here you are day after day pluggin’ along at considerable sacrifice to yourself and maybe your own family!
But you soon come to a point where you realize that nothing is natural. Sure certain family members should show love and concern, but they don’t. So what do you do about it!? You must forgive them from your heart and move on realizing it is they who are missing a blessing. Rejoice in what God has called you to and be thankful for any and all help and don’t murmur! You can even pity those who don’t partake of the ministry you have inherited.
We must release these whom we think owe us something and not put our expectations upon them. They may have issues you know nothing about and your unfulfilled expectation of them only drives them further away and further frustrates you. Some 30, some 60, some 100 fold! We must work with people where they are. Not everyone is as spiritual as you see yourself! Ha!
Stop trying to make others do your job. Quit criticizing those who don’t help you and even ignore or criticize and blame you. Rejoice in the Lord giving thanks for all things and in all things!
Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good. God will give you strength to carry on. If the burden becomes unbearable, remember He carried the Cross for you, cannot you do the same for Him. “faithful unto death”
Give it all you got, give it your whole heart. There’s a world of people and they are waiting just to see your smile! Ha! Ha! Ha! Hallelujah!
“In everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you” & me! Amen
Oh to be free from the man made shackles of criticism and the opinions of men. Grant it Lord!
